Apple is expanding its smart-home lineup with HomeView, a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2 and connected cameras, thermostats and locks. The October 13 announcements put a more personal version of Siri at the center of Apple’s effort to connect entertainment, communication and home controls.
Reuters reported that HomeView uses information from a user’s iPhone to make Siri more personal while Apple says its privacy safeguards keep that data protected.
HomeView personalizes shared screens
HomeView has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, a built-in speaker system and tabletop or wall-mounted designs. Apple says it can recognize up to six people and give each user a personal Home Screen while keeping private content separate.
Siri AI can use an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad to draw on information from apps such as Messages and Calendar. HomeView can also control music, FaceTime, home monitoring, lights, thermostats and door locks, and can display up to nine camera feeds.
HomeView costs $299 in the United States. Preorders began October 13, and availability starts November 13 in the United States and several other countries. Apple says it will not initially be sold in the European Union because Siri AI is not currently available in iOS there.
Siri AI reaches the living room
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K brings Siri AI to the television with a full-screen conversational interface, three far-field microphones and an A19 chip. Apple says the chip provides up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation.
The $299 Apple TV 4K can serve as a smart-home hub and supports Apple Intelligence-generated descriptions of camera activity. It can also work with four HomePod speakers for surround sound when the speakers are arranged in matching front and rear pairs. Preorders began October 13, with availability scheduled for November 13.
Apple adds cameras and locks
Apple Home Collection expands the hardware around the Home app. The lineup, developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, thermostats and temperature sensors.
Apple says the accessories are managed through the Home app without separate accounts and use end-to-end encryption for home data. Compatible cameras can store up to 10 days of event history with an eligible iCloud+ plan, while Apple Intelligence can create video descriptions and support natural-language searches.
Launch dates split by product
HomePod mini 2 arrives October 30 for $149 in five colors. Siri AI will come to the speaker through a future software update, and Apple says it can recognize up to six household users by voice. Home Collection accessories begin arriving in December, with some products scheduled for early 2027.
The announcements extend Siri beyond phones and computers into shared household spaces. Apple is tying its AI features to a broader hardware ecosystem, while the product availability limits in the European Union show that regional software support remains an important constraint.
